Active Matter system requirements
The short answer
You need a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 machine with a discrete graphics card, 8 GB of RAM and 45 GB of space on an SSD. An SSD is not a suggestion: the store listing marks it as required. Integrated graphics do not meet the minimum — the floor is a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti-class card.

Can my laptop run it?
Three checks, in order:
- Does it have a discrete GPU? If the machine only has integrated graphics, it does not meet the minimum. The floor is a GTX 1050 Ti-class card.
- Does it have 8 GB of RAM at least, and 16 GB for comfort? The recommended set doubles memory, and an extraction shooter with this much streaming geometry will use it.
- Is there 45 GB free on an SSD? A mechanical drive is against the stated requirement, and the listing is unusually explicit about it.
If the answer to the first question is no, the practical answer is the console versions rather than a lower-settings PC attempt.

Consoles have no user-facing requirement list beyond the platform itself, and no PS4 or Xbox One version exists.
Linux, SteamOS and Steam Deck
The official FAQ confirms Steam Deck and native Linux support. There is one caveat worth knowing: the official spec sheet is published as an image on the store and support pages rather than as text, and Valve's own compatibility badge for the game still read "Unknown" at the time of this check. If you are buying specifically for a handheld, treat the FAQ statement as the developer's commitment and the badge as not yet updated, rather than assuming a "Verified" rating exists.
Anti-cheat and other software notes
- The store listing names BattlEye as the anti-cheat and references a separate third-party EULA.
- The game requires an internet connection: online play is required on console and the raids are online on PC.
- A storefront AI-content disclosure notes that an in-game character's voice is AI-generated. That is disclosed by the publisher, not by us.
