Active Matter on Xbox
The short answer
Yes. Active Matter released on Xbox Series X|S on 15 September 2026, the same day as PC and PlayStation 5, at $29.99 for the standard edition. There is no Xbox One version: the listing names Xbox Series X|S and PC under the platforms it plays with, and the store badge is "optimized for Xbox Series X|S".

All values read 17 September 2026. The listing prints a rating count without an average, which is why this page prints the count and not a score.
The Game Pass line, explained
The listing states that online multiplayer on console requires one of the three Game Pass tiers, with the subscription sold separately. That is a platform-level condition attached to console multiplayer rather than a subscription to this game: it is a cost to add to the $29.99 when working out what the game costs on Xbox, and it is the reason an Xbox buyer's true entry price is higher than the sticker. Nothing in the listing suggests the game itself has a subscription.
Play Anywhere is not cross-progression
These two things get merged in search results and they are separate:
- Xbox Play Anywhere is Microsoft's entitlement. It means one purchase runs on the Xbox console and on PC, with the save carried by the Xbox cloud, and it is why the listing names PC alongside Xbox Series X|S. It is a licence to run the game in two places.
- Cross-progression is the game's own rule about whether an account's progress moves between platforms. The developer's official FAQ says progress is shared only between the Steam and Gaijin.Net versions on PC — so it does not follow you between an Xbox console and a PC. The purchase module on the game's own site says the opposite, that progress is shared across all platforms. Both statements are published because both are official, the FAQ is the one this site follows, and the crossplay page carries the full comparison.
Crossplay on Xbox
The listing records Xbox cross-platform multiplayer and cross-platform co-op among the game's capabilities. Which players you actually meet is decided by the matchmaking queue each player selects — your platform only, consoles only, or any platform — and all three are separate queues that require an explicit choice in settings. That mechanism belongs to the crossplay page; what is Xbox-specific is that the console-only pool exists as an option at all, so an Xbox player who wants to avoid the PC population can choose it.
The Xbox demo
An Xbox Series demo ran in June 2026 and closed on 30 June 2026. The start date is reported as both 4 June and 9 June by different official notices, so this page prints the month and the closing date, which the sources agree on. The demo and beta history page carries the full timeline.
What Xbox players report
- Aiming. The most persistent console complaint in the early version was controller aim feel, and a player who worked through it published their settings as a workaround. A launch-window console player describes needing a sensitivity and re-mapping pass before the aim stopped feeling floaty, and describes the game as feeling like a PC title on a pad. Both are player reports; neither is a developer statement.
- Input devices. One launch-window console player reports that mouse and keyboard worked on Xbox while it did not work on PlayStation 5. It is a single report from one person, printed as such, and it is the kind of claim that needs re-checking against a later build.
- Frame rate. Console players report the game running at around 60 frames per second without an in-game performance or quality switch being offered.
- Who you meet. A console player who selects the console-only queue reports meeting only other console players and reading that pool as fairer, because the release carried no progress wipe and the console pool therefore opened with everyone at the start; the same player warns that selecting the all-platform pool means meeting accounts that have been accumulating since 2025.
What this page does not carry
No player-count figure and no player-count curve, on the same boundary as the rest of the site; the player count page explains that limit and gives the signals that can be checked instead. No per-zone mode assignment either, for the same reason it is absent from the maps page: the developer confirms that some zones are PvE-only, some PvP and some PvPvE without saying which is which.
